Port Costa is my favorite place in the world, and this haunted little gem of a restaurant is a huge part of why. Bull Valley Roadhouse has the perfect mix of spooky charm, cozy ambiance, and seriously great food. While the menu isn't heavy on vegan options, they're always happy to modify dishes, and they do it well--which is rare and very much appreciated. The adorable patio is perfect for a sunny day. Located by the waterfront, and the whole place feels like stepping into a beautifully eerie time capsule. Whether you're into ghost stories or just looking for a unique, unforgettable first date spot, this is the place.

Bull Valley Roadhouse is such a hidden gem! Port Costa is the cutest little town tucked into the hills, and a trip here really transports you to the pre-prohibition era. The cocktail menu is endless, and our drinks were amazing. Bonus points for many of them being served in awesome mugs. Everything we ate was incredible, but we especially liked the bone marrow and the crab cakes. I can't recommend this place enough, and can't wait to come back.

What can I say about this hidden little gem in the East Bay. Tucked into a small town is an amazing place for a unique quality experience. The restaurant is in an old building that has tons of character and a squeaky wood floor. Lots of antique pictures and fixtures. The cocktail list takes you way back with pre/post prohibition libations. The service was a friendly and professional vibe with good suggestions. Food was super fresh and well thought out. The fried chicken is not to be missed. Definitely add the honey for the win. If you're looking for a special place for a family or romantic occasion Bull Valley fits the bill.

It's always a treat to come to Bull Valley! Port Costa is a hidden gem. The food is delicious, good for allergies/preferences (we are pescatarian and gluten free), and the cocktails are amazing. Also, the vibes and decor are so fun. Shoutout to Bull Valley for their Hanukkah dinner on 1/1/25. It was extremely sweet - I've never seen a restaurant celebrate Hanukkah like that before and it made so incredibly happy. Thank you!

What a cute place to dine in! This place was at the end of the road in a small area, a hidden jam! We didn't make reservation and just walked in on a Friday night. The tables were pretty full but we were able to get a table without waiting. The restaurant was cute and pretty dark at dinner time but I liked it! The foods were pretty tasty but nothing sooo special. I would recommend to try this place when you are around this area. The servers were all nice. Cool experience!

My wife kept talking about this place for years and we just never got a chance to come by until recently. Love the location, what a great spot. Food was good but also they had Bare Bottle beer, which you can never find at any restaurants, which is my favorite. There was a good sized crowd when we went, I see other reviews talking about no crowd but when we went it was very popular. Food was good, a little pricy but okay, portions were good and I do love the atmosphere. We'll be back for sure.

Went on a mini adventure by visiting Port Costa after hearing there are establishments that are a must try. The vibe and ambiance is very eclectic in time period but refreshing to be in compared to current urban establishments. Parker provided excellent service and kept the libations coming. Menu may seem small but felt like a lot of good choices for various taste buds. Must try: Plum Poke, fried chicken wings - need a bucket of the sauce to take home, caramel panna cotta

Omg, what an amazing and super unique dining experience! If you haven't been to Port Costa in the East Bay and are game for a little off the traditional radar adventure, Bull Valley Roadhouse is such a fun alternative to anything but the ordinary. We chose to sit outdoors because the weather was so beautiful, highly recommend! There's a beautiful cocktail/mocktail/beer/wine menu, and they also do special Sunday drinks & brunch from 11a-3p. As for the dinner menu, our party chose to really go all out in honor of a few celebrations we had! We started with the deviled eggs, beef croquettes, fresh bread and honey butter, the Gentleman's relish toast, mac & cheese, and for the grand finale...we chose the largest beef shank I've ever seen served with broccolini and risotto. Everything was shared, and the shank was a $160 plate but split between our whole group, it was not only of epic proportions and extremely photo worthy, but was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and fun. Finishing with a chocolate caramel cookie, scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream, and topped with chocolate whipped cream (so yum!), I literally was in pure culinary heaven. From the XO chili sauce on the deviled eggs (I asked for an extra side of this sauce to use for the rest of the meal), the crispiness of the croquettes and tenderness of the meat inside, the perfect runny egg atop the Gentlemen's toast, the most deliciously sweet honey butter, to the fall off the bone shank, perfectly salted risotto, broccolini crunch, and of course the creamy Mac n cheese (let it sit for a few minutes to harden)...honestly everything was so divine! From the attentive & friendly service to historical funky ambiance, this is just a spot you have to experience for yourself..can't wait to come back to try brunch on a beautiful day! Def worth the extra splurge for a bit of the weekend spontaneous urge..
